When we travel we are reminded of how to dance in the chaos of the constantly shifting moment. We learn patience with what is, even if it isn't quite what we planned. And when we are lucky enough to find ourselves in a place of ease and respite, it's that much easier to feel immense gratitude for it. For this moment, and all others. This is exactly why I have led yearly international retreats since 2012. To provide students a chance to step out of their 'regularly scheduled comfort zone', provide space and perspective, and to bring that awareness and intention back into normal living. It's also a fun way to deepen your yoga and meditation practice, and come back with a bunch of new besties!

As someone who considers travel an important element of a full life, I spend a lot of time researching incredible destinations and retreat centers in alignment with responsible travel, and once a location has been chosen, the absolute must-see natural and cultural attractions for that area. Retreat participants get the chance to take a vacation with time intensive pre-planning done for them, either jumping on board solo, or creating a memorable experience with friends or loved ones.

I've led week long retreats in Portugal, Jamaica, Roatan, Holbox island, Mexico, and Finland. I’ve also gone “local” with weekend getaways to the Catskills or Hudson Valley, NY. The locales may change, but some things remain a constant: we support small, family owned eco-lodges, the food is always incredibly fresh and healthy, and we all come back refreshed and enlivened.
